Daria acts like she's so put upon, but still is able to live life on her own terms (because she wants for so little), while Jodie has to make compromises with herself and with society. For someone who's supposed to be so smart, Daria is kind of content to drift through life, and takes for granted that Jane does too, which is why she tries to drag Jane back down when Jane shows even a spark of independence or of wanting to do something new. Part of it is because she's a minority and knows how much harder she'll have to struggle, but part of it is also that unlike Daria, she's ambitious and wants to make something of herself. Daria is also Conservation Property Manager at Thames Talbot Land Trust (TTLT), a local not-for-profit dedicated to the protection of lands and waters with significant. The main evaluations are based on a group project. Local experts are featured as guest lecturers. I agree, and in that sense Jodie is the more complex character in that like Daria, she sees what's going on under the surface and has pretty much figured out how everything works, but unlike Daria, she still has to play the game. Daria uses case studies as examples, with a focus on local restoration projects.
One was that there had to be an interracial couple (in this case, Staci's parents) and one gay character (the O'Neill/DeMartino mash-up). IIRC the writer said there was a lot of forced diversity stuff they had to include in the reboot. And the family's new home was Amy's childhood home and she was pissed she got nothing out of her dad's will and would torment the Morgendorfers in revenge. Several episodes in, Daria and her family would meet Amy who would be revealed to be the result of a longstanding affair that Helen's dad had with a mistress he was keeping up on the side. The show would start in media res with Daria and Jodie friends and Daria's family having just moved to Lawndale.ĭaria's big storyline would be that the family moved after inheriting a house left to Helen by her father upon his sudden death. They were also from Highland, as opposed to living in Lawndale.ĭaria and Quinn were supposed to have a very toxic relationship and that there would be no real sisterly love between the two. Jane and Trent would appear in 2-3 episodes and that Trent was aged down and would be Jane's twin (to eliminate the age gap issue of him and Daria). IIRC the writer said Max Martini had been approached to voice him, due to him being friends with another one of the writers and the character would have a mentoring relationship with Daria. Mr O'Neill and Mr DeMartino were being merged together and would be a gay ex-serviceman. You might know me as the one who (almost) always responds when people ask where they can get the Restoration Project. No Mack or Kevin, Sandi was one of two big bads along with Aunt Amy (now Helen's illegitimate sister). They were changing characters ages (Brittany, Quinn, Upchuck were going to be 12) and that Sandi/Staci aged up to be Daria/Jodie's age.
